Lahaul & Spiti

Chicham Bridge, at 4,200m, holds the title of Asia's highest bridge, spanning a genuinely dramatic gorge in Spiti that previously required a much longer detour to cross. Best time is June–September. Beyond its engineering significance, the bridge functions as a serious viewpoint in its own right — the drop below is steep enough to be dizzying even for travelers used to high-altitude terrain. It's typically visited en route between Kibber and the rest of the Spiti loop, a functional crossing that's become a destination in itself.
