Hatu Peak is the highest point accessible from the Shimla region at 3,400m, topped by the small Hatu Mata temple and a genuine 360-degree Himalayan panorama on a clear day. Best time is May–June or September–October. It's reached via a manageable trek from Narkanda, making it accessible to reasonably fit travelers without technical mountaineering experience. Compared to Shimla's more crowded viewpoints, Hatu Peak offers a real summit experience — open ridgeline, wide views, minimal infrastructure — while still being reachable as a day trip from Narkanda or even Shimla itself for early starters.
