Jubbal Palace, royal HP history
Jubbal is a former princely-state town in Shimla district, built around Jubbal Palace and surrounded by apple orchards, at 1,900m. It's part of the old Shimla Hill States circuit — a network of small former royal territories that get far less attention than Shimla itself despite their historical significance. Best time is April–June or September–October. The palace and town center give Jubbal a cultural weight that pure-nature offbeat destinations don't have, making it a good stop for travelers interested in Himachal's princely-state history rather than just scenery.
