Kibber is among the highest motorable villages in the world at 4,205m, and its real claim to fame is proximity to genuine snow leopard territory — sightings, while never guaranteed, become more plausible here in winter months when leopards move to lower elevations. Best time to visit is June–September for general access, though wildlife specialists often come in winter specifically.
