Komic is widely cited as the highest motorable village in Asia, sitting at 4,587m in Spiti's stark high-altitude terrain. A handful of families live here year-round alongside an old monastery, and the landscape is about as close to alien as Himachal gets — bare rock, thin air, and long views across the Spiti plateau. Best time is June–September, the only real access window. Altitude is a genuine consideration at this elevation; acclimatizing in Kaza before heading up is standard practice. It pairs naturally with nearby Langza and Hikkim as part of a Spiti loop, but of the three, Komic's elevation and isolation make it the most demanding stop.
