Wetland reserve, migratory birds
Pong Dam in Una district functions as another access point to the same broad wetland reserve as Pong Dam Wetlands in Kangra district — a winter birding destination where bar-headed geese and hundreds of other migratory species gather. At 430m, the essential visiting window is November–February; outside those months, the wetland's defining feature simply isn't present. It's a specialist destination for birdwatchers and nature photographers rather than general sightseers, offering a scale of migratory bird activity that's genuinely unusual for the region.
