At 1,400m in Solan district, the town centers on the Thakur Dwar temple and quiet orchard-lined roads, with a best-time window of March–June or September–November. It doesn't have the built-up hill-station infrastructure of Solan or Kasauli nearby, which keeps it firmly local rather than touristy.
